Independence Day: Independence Day is a national festival of India. The day commemorates the independence of India from the monopolistic British rule, which ruled over a period of more than 200 years. After decades of struggle by the freedom fighters, India finally attained independence during 1947 from the United Kingdom. The day reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning for which our leaders laid their lives in thrust to free India.
