In January, the Odisha government has announced holidays on the following days. January 12, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; January 23, on account of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti; January 26, on account of Republic Day and the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Odisha will remain closed on the above mentioned days.The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including IDFC Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Nainital Bank and Axis Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Republic Day: The day is celebrated as a national festival across the country. On this day the Constitution of India came into effect which was earlier adopted on November 26, 1949, after attaining independence from British rule. The state’s head – Governor will hoist the tri-coloured flag on this day amidst gathering of several state heads and other dignitaries. It will be followed by a parade from the police personnel, NCC members, Scots & Guides. School children will also present cultural performances on this day to mark the unity and integrity of the country. Awards will be facilitated for several brave hearts on this day as a part of the celebrations.
