In November, the Odisha government has announced holidays on the following days. November 9, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; November 10, on account of Eid – e – Milad; on November 12, on account of Karthika Purnima and November 23, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Odisha will remain closed on the above mentioned days.The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Indian Bank, Corporation Bank, Nainital Bank and ICICI Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Eid-e-Milad: It is a Muslim festival. The day marks the birth of Mohammad who is considered as the Prophet of Islam. On this day, the biography of Prophet Mohammad is recited in the form of both poem and prose which is written in the Arabic language, this forms the main event of the day. People conduct processions which pass through many areas in the city and recite Thakbir. Special lip-smacking delicacies like Chicken Korma, Mutton Kebabs, Seviyan, Shahi Tukda, Biryanis, Baklava, Mutton Rogan Josh, Gulab Kheer and so on will be prepared on this day.
