In November, the West Bengal government has announced holidays on the following days. November 9, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; November 12, on account of Birth of Guru Nanak; and November 23, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in West Bengal will remain closed on the above mentioned days.The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including State Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited and DCB Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Birth of Guru Nanak: It is a Sikh festival. It falls on a full moon day during the month of Kartik Maas. It marks the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Sikh religion founder Guru Nanak Devji. The day is celebrated with great religious fervor and gaiety. On this day, people will gather in large number at Gurudwaras to pay obeisance to the spiritual leader. In Gurudwaras, Akhand Path will be performed.
