In September, the Punjab government has announced holidays on the following days. September 14, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; September 28, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Punjab will remain closed on the above mentioned days.The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, KBC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, DCB Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Chhapar Mela: The Chhapar Mela is celebrated in Chhapar district located in Ludhiana. It is an annual festival which falls on the fourth day during the Bhadrapada Maasa as per the Hindu Calendar. The mela is held in memory of Gugga Pir. This is one of the most spectacular and popular fairs held in the malwa belt of Punjab. People worship the snake embodiement of Gugga during the fair. People can witness music, dance and fun in the fair. There will be no bank holiday on Chhapar Mela and all the banks will continue to work as usual.
