In the afternoon trade, indices gained strength, Sensex reclaimed 37,000 levels while Nifty was also trading close to 11000 levels. But towards the end of the session, the Sensex closed higher by 227 points at 36976.85 and Nifty ended higher with gains of 85.65 points at 10,931.40 shrugging off global as well as domestic concerns of US-China trade war, Kashmir issues, depreciating rupee etc. which was for so long playing havoc with the markets.
